The known limitation of standard curcumin extracts is oral bioavailability below 1%: the molecule is water-insoluble, poorly absorbed in the gut, and rapidly metabolised and eliminated. BioSOLVE Curcumin® is a water-dispersible curcumin powder produced on a patented platform technology engineered to overcome exactly this limit.
In an open-label, randomised, two-period cross-over human bioavailability study, BioSOLVE Curcumin® (500 mg) demonstrated 8.9× relative bioavailability versus a standard 95% curcumin extract (1000 mg) ; at half the dose.[1] Clinical efficacy and safety data were published in the peer-reviewed journal Nutrafoods (2022).[2]
Curcumin's biological activity — modulation of multiple transcription factors and signalling pathways, notably NF-κB — is extensively documented. The practical barrier is pharmacokinetic: solubility, intestinal absorption, rapid hepatic conjugation and systemic elimination. The BioSOLVE® platform embeds curcuminoids in a water-dispersible matrix, markedly increasing dissolution rate and plasma exposure (AUC, Cmax).
In a 12-week randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, 24 volunteers with rheumatoid arthritis received 250 mg BioSOLVE Curcumin® twice daily; pain, stiffness and physical function assessed by ACR20, VAS and WOMAC improved significantly versus placebo with a favourable safety profile.[2] At the 90-day assessment, the change in VAS pain score was reported as 74.96% in the test group versus 8.33% under placebo.[3]
